First Digital Repairs - Frequently Asked Questions.

Listed below are some of the questions we often get asked. If your question is not here, please call us.

Q. How should I send my camera to you?
A. We recommend you send your repair to us in a securely packaged plain box via Royal Mail Special delivery. This service is guaranteed next day delivery by noon and includes transit insurance. For your peace of mind, delivery can also be traced using the Royal Mail information line or web site.

Q. How long will it take to complete a repair?
A. We process all repairs on the day of arrival and produce an estimate (if required) within three days of arrival. All repairs are logged onto our computer database and a fully trained technician will access the repair, generating a customer service report.
Repairs are generally completed within 5 days of the receipt of customer instructions, provided that any spares required to complete the repair are available, we will inform customers of any delays to this process.

Q. How long is the repair guarantee?
A. All Digital cameras repaired are guaranteed for six months from the date of completion and Digital Camcorders are guaranteed for three months from the date of completion. The warranty on repairs covers labour and any parts fitted during repair.
In all cases the guarantee shall be void if the item repaired by us has suffered misuse, neglect or repair/damage by third party intrusion during the warranty period.

A. Each repair is individually accessed and a FREE OF CHARGE estimate is produced within three days of receipt for those customers requiring a costing before any work is carried out, in all cases we reserve the right to re estimate any repair if further labour or parts are required.
All estimates are free of charge except for return carriage and insurance when a repair estimate is refused.

Q. Is my Digital Camera/Camcorder worth repairing?
A. In the majority of cases a repair can be justified on a piece of equipment, which you know, trust and enjoy using. It is generally much cheaper to have a repair carried out rather than to replace the item except in a very few exceptional cases where equipment has suffered major liquid contamination.
